The main reason for us to visit The Rock was definitely Zonaria. About a year had passed since last we saw them, as they were supporting Pain on their Psalms Of Extinction tour. Incidentally, Zonaria there became the very first band for me to do a review on.

A few more people had entered the place since Zebadiah Crowe had left the stage (I'm not saying there is a connection), but there was still a long way to go before they would reach the edge of the stage.
As was true the first few times we saw them, Zonaria still would not let such a small thing affect them, and they delivered a very dynamic and powerful show.
They were showcasing their new album The Cancer Empire, and their Hypocrisy influenced death metal was very catching. However, it wasn't until The Armageddon Anthem from their first album Infamy And The Breed was played that the audience really came alive. Then again, here they really came alive, and it didn't let up until the end of the show. Even though it was not the largest crowd, I daresay that it was the liveliest audience reaction we saw all night.
Zonaria themselves were not late to play along with this, and even though they had been lively on stage all night, Emil Nyström (guitar) decided it was time to take it a step further, and jumped down into the audience; and while still playing, he headbanged along with the rest of the crowd right there on the floor. This is what I call showmanship, extra points for that one.

"This next one is even faster; it is From The Abysmal Womb!" With these few words, and a slight gesture from Simon Berglund (vocals, guitar) a wild moshpit came to life in front of the stage. Yes, at this point the crowd had grown considerably, and they were really getting into the show. Sadly, it was not long before the band announced their last song for the evening, Rendered In Vain, and the whole thing was over.

I feel that Zonaria have matured and grown a lot performance ways since last we saw them, and I have no doubts they have a bright future ahead of them on the death metal scene.
